Diving, Whale watching, snorkelling with Reef Sharks, scootering around Moorea and not forgetting a luxurious cruise. This selection of photographs was taken during a holiday (not an expedition, or a hike or backpacking but a proper real holiday) in French Polynesia's Society Islands from 4th to 15th September 2004.

An early rise then a flight to Bora Bora with a brief stop at Huahine. Once we arrived at Bora Bora we boarded the Ti'a Moana cruiser class yacht, our home for the next three nights. Photographs of the vessel can be found here. We also spent some time snorkelling and catching the sun on a motu at Bora Bora.

119 to 140
On the Tuesday we were taken to the island of Tahaa where we experienced a traditional Ahi Ma'a feast. An Ahi Ma'a is like an underground oven, basically a hole in the ground where food is cooked. We were entertained during the meal by locals and staff singing and playing the guitar and ukulele. In the evening we cruised in the dusk light while a tattooist applied his designs to a few of the passengers.
